Times Of Swaziland: ‘LOLO’ MTHETHWA BACK AT WANDERERS ‘LOLO’ MTHETHWA BACK AT WANDERERS ================================================================================ Nimrod Hlophe on 03/12/2022 09:39:00 MBABANE - Reinvigorating the faltering giant. Manzini Wanderers special committee members are no longer a secret as the Chairman of the Select Committee Bongani ‘Bhanyaza’ Mdluli’ has disclosed its full membership. The select committee was set up last month immediate after the former Director Sandile ‘Chief’ Dlamini, hinted his exit. This committee was sanctioned to oversee the sale of about E5 million worth Wanderers shares, which is believed its revenue will help run the team. The select committee comprise of 10 members and they will be launching soon to kick start the process of the sale of the shares that. Notable is that some of these members in the committee are well known around the maroon and white ensemble circles. Among them is Lawrence ‘ Lolo’ Mthethwa, who has also once served as the Chairman of Eswatini Sport and Recreation Council (ESRC). Girlie Johnson who has been earlier unveiled is retained in the committee while Moses Khumalo is part of it. “There’re also two other members who asked to remain anonymous because of their status in the society,” Mdluli explained. Mdluli also noted that Tobias Kamugicha was appointed as the accountant. He said they would be launching soon whereby they will reveal more details on how fans could buy the shares. He encouraged those willing to buy to express their interest with Kamugicha in the meantime. “The issue of salaries is also one we are looking at and this is also one of the initiatives aimed at resolving the problem but we are also doing some other means to get through it,” Mdluli said. The maroon and white giants have suffered economic challenges since two months ago, with long serving director departing the team. However, Mdluli said he departure was only one consequent to the new shareholding structure. He explained that even the other company directors were affected like him. He said if they decided to buy the shares, they would be back in the directorship. Wanderers have had to miss training in two separate occasions ahead of the competitive fixtures due to financial challenges. Mdluli was also reported to have given the players E15 000 to share at training in one of the bad days when the players would not resume training unless there was money. This happened twice, essentially the money totalled E30 000 and Mdluli said it was from people interested in buying the team’s shares. Wanderers are selling 10 000 shares, each vying for E500 for a limited number of 50 people. The hub giants expect to rake in E5m if the sale of the shareholding goes well.
