THREE-YEAR CONTRACT FOR EFA CEO

MBABANE – He is here to stay.
That is the Eswatini Football Association (EFA) Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
Frederick Mngomezulu, who had his contract extended by a further three years.
Mngomezulu has already served for over 15 years at the country’s football
mother body after signing his first contract in 2005 when former President Adam
‘Bomber’ Mthethwa was re-elected into office.
The current contract will run until 2025. That will be the same period when the
current EFA’s executive committee’s term expires. He was handed the
extension contract by the EFA Executive headed by Peter ‘Samora’ Simelane,
who was elected into office last year. An impeccable source close to the matter
confirmed the contract extension to the Times Sports Desk.
EFA held its Ordinary General Assembly at Happy Valley Hotel and it was the
first for Simelane since he was elected last year in June.
EFA Marketing and Communications officer Muzi Radebe said the contract issue was
between the CEO and the football mother body. “I can’t say anything
concerning the contract as that is between the employer and the employee,” he
said. EFA presented during the assembly that the secretariat of the organisation
was now arranged into five basic operational departments.
These are the technical department, finance and administration; marketing and
communications, licensing and international affairs and the refereeing
department. “The current organisation structure of the EFA secretariat is such
that there are 20 full-time employees and nine part-time employees. At least 11
are based at the national office at Sigwaca House, Mbabane, with nine based at
the Technical Centre, Lobamba. The technical department is fully stationed at
the Technical Centre,” reads part of the report.
