BISHOP GOING NOWHERE – ‘BIRDS’

MBABANE – All is well at Mbabane Swallows.
This is the assurance that was given by the Council of Elders yesterday during a
press briefing. They said Bishop Bheki Lukhele was still in charge of the club.
This came after some reports suggesting that Lukhele was leaving the club and he
was looking for someone to take over. The Council of Elders Chairman Absalom
‘Mvana’ Ngwenya said there was no need for the Swallows family to panic as
Lukhele remained in charge and was fully part of the club. He said it was true
that he was looking for someone to assist him after the demise of his brother
Thulani ‘Kabasa’ Lukhele, who passed away last year. “Mbabane Swallows is
still under the leadership of President Bheki Lukhele. He is available and
always present. The club requested him to head it and there is nothing that has
changed,” he said.
Ngwenya mentioned that it was true that he was looking for someone to assist
him, as he was not always available. “His ‘eyes at the club’ at one point
was his brother, who was also close to the team. Since he passed away, he made
it clear that he could welcome someone to assist him while he is busy with his
other duties,” he added. Ngwenya was in the presence of Secretary to the
Council of Elders Enock Nkosi, and General Manager Sandile Zwane, during the
press conference at their offices. “Football players are like girls when you
propose. We were hoping that our players remain with the club but because of
different reasons we are going to lose some and we are going to add some to the
club. I believe we are one of the highest paying clubs in the country,” he
said.
