Times Of Swaziland: MZAMO TAKES TRAINING TO THE STREETS MZAMO TAKES TRAINING TO THE STREETS ================================================================================ BY PHOLSILE HLOPHE on 26/01/2021 00:24:00 MBABANE – Join the COVID-19 awareness innovative training with Thando Mzamo. A lot of people started exercising after learning that a strong immune system was essential in the fight against COVID-19 and other diseases. Bodybuilder and socialite Thando ‘Starring’ Mzamo has unleashed innovative but safe means for people in Manzini to exercise during the lockdown, as he inspired community members to make use of their streets, not just for jogging, but for short high resistance exercise. “I call it the Road Stars Challenge. With the pandemic promising to stay longer than expected, I decided not to lie idle so I started training along the streets in my neighbourhood. People are inspired as they join me in doing resistance training on the non-busy roads called Southern Distributor near Bosco Skill Centre and Salesian,” said Mzamo. movement With the partial lockdown rules restricting people’s movement, some regular trainers took the challenge since they are no longer able to go to the gym. Mzamo said some people were inspired by his consistency and decided to join him. “Our sessions last for at least 1:30hours, starting from 9am and 5:30pm to accommodate the working class. Everyone is welcome. It’s a quiet street and we maintain social distancing during training. We normally use body exercises, tyres and ropes to do exercises that shake and tone the body to its core,” said Mzamo. Anyone who is interested in joining the Road Stars Challenge can contact Mzamo on 7634 0856.
