POPULAR XI MEN EX-MANAGER MVILA DLAMINI DIES

MBABANE – Another football legend is gone.
Former XI Men In Flight’s popular Manager, Mvila Dlamini, passed away on
Tuesday evening after losing his battle with an undisclosed illness.
Dlamini captivated the hearts of many local football followers during his time
as manager at the Siteki-based giants for his no-nonsense approach to things. He
delivered a lot of trophies for the club and remains one of the best managers to
have ever graced local football.
He was regarded as the right-hand man of businessman and former XI Men In
Flight’s boss Moses ‘Mkhulu’ Motsa, who confirmed Dlamini’s sad demise
yesterday.
The former Premier League of Eswatini (PLE) chairman said he was short of words
to describe how he was feeling as Mvila was his cousin despite that they worked
together during the dominating times of XI Men In Flight in local football,
particularly during the once popular annual Trade Fair Cup, where the
Siteki-based side would reach the finals.
They were unbeatable, especially during night games in this tournament hence
they earned the nickname ‘Easy by Night Boys.

“It is true that he passed away on Tuesday evening. It’s a huge blow for
many people as he was a person who dedicated himself all out in everything that
he did. He was a natural hard worker and he will be greatly missed,” the
respected businessman said.
Former XI Men In Flight’s goalkeeper Bright ‘Komari’ Nxumalo was among the
players who passed their condolences to the late Dlamini’s family.
The football fraternity has lately been engulfed by a number of deaths and
Mbabane Highlanders has been the most affected after losing four officials this
year. The latest was former patron Mario Masuku, who followed after the demise
of former team doctor Mvumeni Khumalo and Andrew Mamba, who all passed away this
year.
National team, Sihlangu, assistant coach Gcina ‘Magiyane’ Dlamini was laid
to rest on January 2, 2021after dying of COVID-19-related complications.
It could not be immediately ascertained as to when Mvila would be laid to rest
even though indications are that this will happen over the weekend.
