Times Of Swaziland: MENSAH WAITING ON EGYPT OFFER MENSAH WAITING ON EGYPT OFFER ================================================================================ BY CHRIS DLAMINI on 13/01/2021 00:04:00 MBABANE – Former Manzini Wanderers Ghanaian forward Johnson Mensah is looking beyond Eswatini in the near future. Currently with Mbabane Highlanders, where he signed a six months short-term contract, the former Matsapha United forward is itching for an opportunity to play football again. He has high hopes of playing in Egypt later this year. “I do have a chance for Egypt and that is still very very valid, that’s why I need to play and have a short-term contract here to enable my agent there to fix things for me. I’m supposed to leave by June or July depending on when my agent fixes things up there for me (sic),” Mensah responded as he confirmed the news. He said had it not been for the challenges that came with COVID-19; he would probably have gone to Egypt already to try out his luck with a club in their top league. However, he would not divulge any club name at this stage, saying he was currently focusing on playing football again in the country. However, he would not come out clear if this would be at Highlanders or any other club as some reports linked him with Moneni Pirates. “Some things are best not said in the media. I currently have signed for Highlanders but yes, I want to play football and it’s true there are teams that are showing interest but first thing for me is to respect Mbabane Highlanders and hear them out first as I’m currently with them and I love the club,” he said. Mensah asked not to commit himself about his future at Highlanders save to say that he loved the club and was hopeful he would soon know his fate with them. His agent could not be immediately reached.
