That is professional golfer James Pennington, who reigned supreme during the Eswatini Professional Golf Association (EPGA) ESRIC tour yesterday at Royal Swazi Spa. Pennington is also a brand ambassador for the Eswatini Royal Insurance Corporation (ESRIC). He beat a field of 10 golfers with a gross of 139 while tied for second were Raymond Mathonsi and Thulani Mkhaliphi. The duo of Meshack Zwane and Peter Dlamini were tied for third. Pennington beat Raymond Mathonsi who had won the past two editions sponsored by ESRIC. Pennington said he was happy to play at home. β€œIt was good changing the environment after the busy schedule in South Africa and it is unfortunate that I will be going back shortly. It was my chance to share the field with the local guys and it was a nice competition,’ he said. Meanwhile, Sifiso Vilane defended his trophy in the amateurs as he beat a field of seven players to claim top honours again. He was the winner at Nkonyeni Bushveld Course last month and coming second was Albert Zungu. Representing the sponsor, ESRIC, was Claims Manager Teboho Mohapeloa.
