Times Of Swaziland: MBABANE GOLF CLUB REOPENS MBABANE GOLF CLUB REOPENS ================================================================================ BY SANELE JELE on 15/10/2020 00:25:00 MBABANE – The Mbabane Golf Club will tomorrow re-open after being closed for almost a week. The club was closed last week Wednesday due to maintenance. It was closed when two major tournaments were supposed to be staged last week. These are the Leg of Lamb and Eswatini Royal Insurance Corporation (ESRIC) Monthly Mug which were supposed to be staged last week Friday and Saturday respectively. Mbabane Golf Club Captain Kenneth Nkambule confirmed the reopening of the club. “As we had highlighted that the club would be closed and be reopened this Friday. Tomorrow at noon it will be tee-off time for the weekly Leg of Lamb tournament which was stopped because of the wet weather the previous time,” he said. He also highlighted that on Saturday they would host the monthly MTN Masters competition. “This competition will be played in a Bingo Bango Bongo format. It is very interesting. Tee-off time is 7am for a morning field and 11am for the second batch of golfers. There are lots of prizes to be won. We already have a full field (64 golfers). The registration was closed eight hours after it was opened. The interest in this tournament is very encouraging and we wish they would show the same interest in other tournaments too,” he said. Two weeks ago, the Leg of Lamb was cancelled due to the waterlogging after some torrential downpour. The ESRIC Monthly Mug had to be cancelled midway after the mist got heavy. The previous winner of the Leg of Lamb was Sibusiso ‘Swazi-Tiger Woods’ Ndzabandzaba while the MTN Masters champions were Dumsani Msibi and Robinson Hlophe.
