MBABANE – Lucky Honour Janza!
Indeed, former Mbabane Swallows Zambian-born coach Honour Janza should consider
himself a very lucky fellow after escaping a possible E72 000 penalty following
his request to be released from his two-year contract.
The Times Sports Desk has reliably gathered that Swallows President Archbishop
Bheki Lukhele waived the clause in the contract agreement to allow the Zambian
mentor to have his wish of flying out of the ‘Birds’ nest.
The clause under the contract agreement, Article 5.1 Termination states that:
“In case of breach of contract, the party responsible for the breach of the
contract shall be liable to pay a sum to the equivalent of 4 (four) months this
may include performance,”

Janza was earning a salary of E18 000 per month which translates to E72 000 in
four months.
During the press briefing last Thursday, Archbishop Lukhele was at pains
stressing that the contract had been cancelled by mutual consent.
“The coach, Janza, through a letter that has been received by my office,
requested that I release him from his contract with Mbabane Swallows due to the
COVID-19 situation and I graciously agreed to release Janza. For the record, I
state that the ending of the contract is mutual and it is as a result of the
coach’s request,” Lukhele told members of the media.
Janza declined to comment on the issue when contacted yesterday. Swallows
Marketing and Communications Manager Mancoba Mabuza reiterated the club
president’s words that the contract was terminated by mutual consent.
“You may have a contractual obligation to give your employer three months
notice but at times you ask that you be released immediately. The employer can
decide not to demand payment or something,” Mabuza said.
