Information gathered from highly-placed sources is to the effect that the meeting took place at Sigwaca House last Friday, at 10:30am. According to the sources, present during the meeting was the PLE Executive led by its Chairman, Mark Carmichael, PLE Chief Operations Officer (COO) Pat Vilakati, EFA Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Frederick Mngomezulu and the president. meeting EFA Marketing and Communications Officer, Muzi Radebe, confirmed the meeting when drawn for comment yesterday. He clarified that it was not actually a formal meeting, but a courtesy call where the new PLE Executive Committee was to be formally introduced to the EFA CEO. “It was not a formal meeting, but a courtesy call meant for the newly-elected committee to be formally introduced to the CEO,” said Radebe. He said the president was also present on arrival of the committee members and grabbed the opportunity to also be part of the meeting and to meet the members. “If it was an official meeting, there would have been an agenda so it wasn’t, it was only a courtesy call,” said Radebe. Meanwhile, Vilakati added that the intention was to seek for guidance from the EFA as a newly elected group for their term in office as they strived to develop football in the country. gratitude “The president expressed gratitude for the new executive to deem it proper to meet him first after the election and promised to assist where he could,” said Vilakati. He said they were well received and will continue to meet the other stakeholders to whom they had already sent correspondences to state that they will be coming. “When they meet these other PLE, stakeholders, they would then state what their vision and plans were for the duration of their term in office,” said the COO.
