Times Of Swaziland: E500 000 LEGAL HEADACHE FOR ‘SIKHALI’ E500 000 LEGAL HEADACHE FOR ‘SIKHALI’ ================================================================================ BY LWAZI DLAMINI on 27/09/2020 23:19:00 Sports Editor MBABANE – A staggering E500 000 legal bill awaits any prospects of appealing the two-year ban meted on Eswatini international Sabelo ‘Sikhali’ Ndzinisa. Ndzinisa was slapped with a two-year ban by the South African Football Association (SAFA) Arbitration Committee for allegedly signing two contracts with two different GladAfrica Championship sides, TS Sporting and Mbombela United. Subsequently, Mbombela United were also docked 23 points and relegated to the murky waters of the ABC Motsepe league. Mbombela United boss Oupa Matsebula has reportedly offered all the team players free clearances, in a move that gives a clear indication of the club fondly known as ‘Tingwenyama’ likeliness to cease to exist. The Mbombela based outfit was home to five locals in Banele ‘Pupu’ Sikhondze, Felix ‘Fela’ Badenhorst, Njabulo ‘D4D’ Ndlovu, Sabelo ‘Sikhali’ Ndzinisa, all former Mbabane Swallows players and Justice ‘Figo’ Figuareido. In its technical team it also had two locals in Dennis ‘Yuki’ Masina and Siyabonga ‘Siya’ Bhembe. The player’s agent, Donald Aphane, confirmed that the legal bill for pursuing the appeal of the two-year ban will not cost anything less than E500 000. “It will range between E500 000 and E700 000 to appeal the sentence. We want to try and help the player. I am meeting the SAFA people so that we know whether we will appeal to SAFA or CAS,” Aphane said. He said if the matter goes to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) in Zurich, Switzerland it will cost even more to cover the legal bill. “I am meeting the SAFA Head of Legal department Mr Tebogo Monthlante tomorrow (today) for advice on how we can go about appealing this verdict. Eswatini people should also assist the boy as he needs support from everyone,” Aphane said. Efforts to get a comment from Ndzinisa proved futile as he did not pick up his calls at the time of compiling this report last night.
