Times Of Swaziland: GIVE US MEETING AGENDA FIRST! GIVE US MEETING AGENDA FIRST! ================================================================================ Ntokozo Magongo on 11/08/2020 08:17:00 MBABANE – It was a failed mission between the Premier League of Eswatini (PLE) and its two affiliates, Manzini Wanderers and Mbabane Highlanders yesterday. The meeting that took place yesterday afternoon yielded no fruit as the teams demanded that the PLE furnishes them with at least the agenda or an outline of the meeting. The PLE had summoned the two clubs to a meeting to discuss the alliance that was announced last Tuesday at Happy Valley Resort. Representing the Premier League of Eswatini (PLE) was the Chief Operations Officer (COO), Pat Vilakati, in the company of executive member Sicelo Mkhonta while Highlanders representatives were South African Managing Director Ally Kgomongwe, who was accompanied by Benson Dlamini and Simiso Jele. Wanderers were represented by the Management Committee (MC) Chairman Bongani ‘Bhanyaza’ Mdluli and Elvis Dlamini, who were later joined by Director Sandile ‘Chief’ Dlamini. Assisting Interestingly, Mdluli is also a member of the Premier League of Eswatini (PLE) Executive Committee assisting the committee on legal issues. A source close to the matter said all parties could not get into merits of the matter but another meeting would be arranged after the PLE had provided what was demanded by the teams. “The teams felt that they were not well-briefed on what was to be discussed during the meeting. The meeting was then adjourned without getting into the merits of the matter at hand,” said the source. PLE COO Pat Vilakati confirmed that the meeting had to be adjourned without getting into the merits as the teams wanted more clarity on why they were invited to the meeting. “We are going to abide by their request and I believe another meeting will be scheduled soon,” he said. Vilakati said he could not comment further on the matter as nothing was discussed. Kgomongwe announced during the joint press conference that he would be financially assisting Wanderers while trying to secure a director for the club, with already two candidates having been identified. Kgomongwe acted on a request from Wanderers, requesting him to secure the director on their behalf. The SA-based businessman took over Highlanders in the beginning of the current suspended season, signing for five years as the managing director. Wanderers have been financially struggling since the departure of former sole Director, Mehluli Nhlengetfwa.
