Times Of Swaziland: WANDERERS REQUEST MEETING WITH PLE WANDERERS REQUEST MEETING WITH PLE ================================================================================ BY SABELO NDZINISA on 07/08/2020 00:45:00 MBABANE – Manzini Wanderers have since requested an urgent meeting with the Premier League of Eswatini (PLE). This comes amid the controversy created by the revelation that Mbabane Highlanders’ South African businessman Chief Ally Kgomongwe has offered financial assistance to the Hub giants to help them sort out outstanding salaries and buy new players. This has however sparked serious debate after it was reported that Kgomongwe’s kind gesture may be in conflict with the PLE Constitution. Wanderers’ Management Committee (MC) Chairman Bongani ‘Bhanyaza’ Mdluli is however singing a different tune, stating clearly that those who hold such a view are misinterpreting the provisions in the constitution. “The provisions they are quoting as being flouted have nothing to do Ally Kgomongwe. Besides, Ally is not a shareholder at Wanderers and definitely not an agent. He is also not involved in any capacity in the team because he is Mbabane Highlanders Managing Director. People are just creating unnecessary confusion about a non issue. Besides, he made it clear that this was just a once off financial assistance which is a loan because it will be paid back by the new director coming in,” Mdluli said. He asserted that they have requested a meeting with the PLE next week Tuesday to clear the air regarding this issue. “People are getting it all wrong and it is our duty to set the record straight. We have requested to discuss this issue with the PLE Executive Committee in a meeting next week Tuesday. Hopefully, we will be able to put this matter to rest so that people can stop sowing wrong information about Ally help,” Mdluli said. PLE’ Chief Operations Officer COO) Pat Vilakati was contacted several times but he did not pick up his calls. He was first contacted at 16:51 before another call was out through at 16:57 but again, there was no answer. The last call was made at 19:19 but the phone was off.
