Times Of Swaziland: ‘MGIJIMI’ SACRIFICED HIS LIFE FOR FOOTBALL’ ‘MGIJIMI’ SACRIFICED HIS LIFE FOR FOOTBALL’ ================================================================================ BY NTOKOZO MAGONGO on 30/07/2020 00:46:00 MBABANE – He touched the hearts of many including local players. That is the late South Africa’s Orlando Pirates Super fan Mandla ‘Mgijimi’ Sindane whose presence was always visible at Somhlolo National Stadium. Some players and football officials took their time to send their condolences on social media after the passing away of the mighty Buccaneers number one fan. Sindane has been invited three times in the country to be a guest, during cup finals where he entertained with his dancing moves. Condolences One of the players, who passed condolences, is Mbabane Swallows defender Sanele Mkhweli who posted his picture with the late friend. He said he was touched by the reports as he was always following Mgijimi as an Orlando Pirates fan. “He made me to see football in another way when you are a fan. There are few people who sacrifice their life for football like he did. One of his stories that touched me was that he was hitch hiking when attending games. He was not only watching Orlando Pirates but followed other teams and also attended their games. It’s a great loss for football not in South Africa only but the whole continent. Even if you are a player, he was visible at the stadium when he was present. May his soul rest in peace,” he said. Another player was Pigg’s Peak Black Swallows defender Siyabonga ‘Msholozi’ Mdluli. Pose The last time he was in the country, it was during the Ingwenyama Cup final on March 8, at Somhlolo National Stadium where he took his time to pose with football officials, champions, Green Mamba, players and fans. He even took a picture with the tournament’s patron, His Majesty King Mswati III.
