For a lot of players, football is a passion and job hence there is no time to stop training. While Eswatini awaits the announcement from Eswatini Football Association President Adam ‘Bomber’ Mthethwa regarding the fate of the unfinished 2019/2020 season, which like all sports, was suspended due to the COVID-19 outbreak, Mbabane Citizens’ winger Brian Thring continues to pursue his fitness in his daily home training sessions. Precautions Thring said he was adhering to the lockdown rules and taking all the hygiene precautions to be safe from being infected with the virus. The First Division side’s talented player said he was hoping for everything to stabilise so that they could return to the soccer pitch and fight for promotion to the Premier League next season. “Coronavirus is very dangerous and we are all scared. I do my training in my backyard where I do abdominal exercises, push-ups and various strength training exercises. Now that the lockdown has been eased a bit, I practise ball control skills with about six friends and we always wear masks and use sanitiers for hand hygiene,” said Thring. He, however, disclosed that the emergence of the virus affected him like all other soccer players but promised to continue pursuing his dream in soccer and hoped to join big teams like Mbabane Highlanders and Mbabane Swallows in future. Encouraged He also encouraged all sportsmen and the nation at large to incorporate healthy eating in their fitness goals as he warned that the coronavirus took advantage of a weak immune system. He said one should boost his immune system by drinking a concoction of ginger, garlic and hot lemon tea.
