Times Of Swaziland: KOMBI GUY CALLED US LESBIAN DOGS - EX-SA TUKS’ STAR KOMBI GUY CALLED US LESBIAN DOGS - EX-SA TUKS’ STAR ================================================================================ BY CHRIS DLAMINI on 23/05/2020 23:00:00 EZULWINI – Women football players in the country feel they are downgraded by men. Now they are starting to speak out about the ongoing sexual harassment and gender discrimination they feel they are subjected to in the country. Following yesterday’s story by EswatiniNews Sports desk about a Manzini Wanderers star, Andiswa Mazibuko coming out open about her feelings on the insults, a former Pretoria Tuks FC star, Temakhwanati ‘Junior’ Mncina made a shocking revelation when the subject matter was brought up to her. “At times they just call us boys you know. That’s fine if we do it amongst ourselves. At training we call each other sibali (brother-in-law) and that’s okay with us, and maybe our close friends and fans but for a total stranger it would sound like an offence. One time we were from the club and some guy shouted through the window calling us lesbian dogs and that really got us worked up,” she said. Currently with Manzini Wanderers after completing her studies in South Africa, Mncina said this was downgrading them and had to stop. She admitted most of them like dressing like boys and some may be lesbians but it still gave no one a right to judge and crucify them. “Eswatini people are still behind to the point they don’t understand why we are female footballers and even ask silly questions like ‘can you dribble past me’ and that’s an understatement because this is what I do for a living,” she responded when asked about South Africa compared to home. Mncina who got her first senior national team Sitsebe Samhlekati call-up this year, said often times it is the guys they grew up playing with who understand they are just footballers and nothing more. Meanwhile, Mncina has a Degree in Humanities where she majored in Cultural Tourism and Anthropology. Her other nickname is TJ and is 24-years old. She wears jersey 3 at Wanderers and a former Muchachas player in the country.
