Times Of Swaziland: ‘KOKI’S JOB SAFE FOR NOW ‘KOKI’S JOB SAFE FOR NOW ================================================================================ BY THEMBA ZWANE on 14/01/2020 06:27:00 MBABANE – The big win against traditional rivals Mbabane Swallows has brought him a temporary reprieve. That is Mbabane Highlanders head coach Thabo ‘Koki’ Vilakati, who will lead the ‘black bull’ this coming weekend in the quarter-finals of the Ingwenyama Cup against Madlenya. This follows his victory against the ‘red and white’ glamour outfit which Highlanders thrashed 1-0 to boot out of the knockout tournament on Sunday at Somhlolo National Stadium under the tutelage of the reputable gaffer. News had been dominating local media in the past week on the suspension of Vilakati by Highlanders’ South Africa-born Director Ally Kgomongwe following comments he made in a post-match interview after their league game against Moneni Pirates. The head coach alleged that there was interference by one top official in the club whom he did not name. Consequently, Kgomongwe suspended him indefinitely. The director was reported to have highlighted that the coach was not fired and was still the capital outfit’s head coach but merely suspended until they met and deliberated on the issue of interference raised by the coach. Yesterday, Kgomongwe, who is currently in the country following his arrival to watch the Mbabane derby Highlanders won 1-0, was contacted on the matter.
