Despite the 27-65 loss, Superladies are still on top of the log standings with 16 points after nine games. However, despite being on top, they are feeling the heat now as Lady Jazz and Lynx Basketball are breathing heavily on their neck. If they are to defend the league, they need to return to their winning ways. The revamped Lynx have exposed the champions and their title is at stake. According to an updated log standings sent to this publication by the league commissioner Melusi Hlophe yesterday, in the Men’s Elite League, Manzini Superstars are still on top with 22 points. Superstars, who won the league last season, are on top of the log with 22 points after 12 games. They have managed 10 wins and only lost twice. Coming second is another Manzini side in Steels. The latter is on 21 points after same number of games while Mbabane Jazz are third with 21 points. Completing the top five brackets are Langalam Dunkylaine (4th) and new comers Manzini Titans (5th) who are on 19 points. Chase Basketball are finding it hard to cope in the Men’s Elite league as they are yet to record a win after playing 12 games. Chase were recently promoted last season from the Men’s Promotional League. Usutu Beavers’ poor run continues after suffering their seventh consecutive defeat at the hands of Shooting Stars. Mbabane Knicks in the Men’s Promotional League are on fire. They have gone nine games unbeaten. They are currently on top with 18 points while Luyengo Pacers are closely following them on 16 points after 10 games.
