ESWATINI QUARTET JOINS SLOVAKIA’S SKO VELKA IDA

MBABANE – After undergoing two-week trials, the Eswatini quartet has won the
hearts of a second division side in Slovakia.
The four local players are Denver Sundowns goalkeeper Lwethu Simelane,
Vovovo’s Mxolisi Tsabedze, Wandile Dlamini and Justine Nkwocha. The quartet
left the country last month to try their luck in Europe. According to Pastor
Victor McDonald who facilitated the move, the players have impressed.
“They have been training with FK Kechnec and they have all impressed. They
have all secured two-year contracts with FK Kechnec. However, due to that the
registration had closed, they were loaned out to SKO Velka IDA until January,”
McDonald said.
Only Simelane could comment on the move when reached yesterday. The other
players could not respond to Whatsapp text messages. “Well, I am happy that I
have finally signed for a Europe team. To me it’s like a dream come true and I
am grateful and I can thank the Almighty God for this golden opportunity,”
Simelane said.
He went on to thank Sundowns boss, Mark Carmichael. “Mr Carmichael has always
believed in me. I want to pass my gratitude to him for giving me the opportunity
to play for Sundowns. I also want to thank the team’s development coaches who
have played a pivotal role to who I am today,” he said.
He further thanked Pastor McDonald and his family for always being supportive.
The quartet joins former Manzini Wanderers and Vovovo starlet Leon Manyisa, who
joined FC Van of Armenia.
