Times Of Swaziland: E150 000 FOR MORMOND STIX CHARITY MTB RACE E150 000 FOR MORMOND STIX CHARITY MTB RACE ================================================================================ BY SANELE JELE on 11/07/2019 08:54:00 MANZINI – The third edition of the Mormond Stix Charity Mountain Bike Race is growing in leaps and bounds. With just barely nine days before the race gets underway, the charity race has raked up to E150 000. These are funds donated by 51 companies and a small percent from the registering fees. Noteworthy is this is not the total funds collected as the registration deadline is July 19. billed The race, which is billed for Manzini Club on July 20, has already attracted hundreds of cyclists, not only from the country, but outside the borders. The main race is 65km and the second longest race is 35km with the third longest being a 25km.There is also a race children and elderly which are 12km and 6km. In its first edition, the race raised E60 000 and the second edition managed to raise E100 000. All the proceeds from the race are donated to charity. Beneficiaries are communities from Elwandle, Nhlambeni and Gundvwini. This was revealed by one of the race organisers, Clinton McNamara, during the launch of the event which was held at Spur Manzin at Lifestyle Centre. The event was officially launched by Ministry of Tinkhundla Administration and Development David ‘Cruiser’ Ngcamphalala who was representing the Minister of Sports, Culture and Youth Affairs Harries ‘Madze’ Bulunga. Also present during the launch was Liqoqo Chairman and former Deputy Prime Minister Paul Dlamini, Mormond Electrical’s John Thompson, Eswatini Cycling Association President Sihlangu Nhlabatsi and some members of parliament from the surrounding constituencies.
