‘ITS G. MAMBA’S LEAGUE TO LOSE’

MBABANE – “Their destiny is in their own hands.” These were comments by
Sihlangu assistant coach Velekhaya Mthethwa yesterday ahead of the grand closing
of the MTN Premier League games on Sunday.
Green Mamba, who enjoy a superior goal difference over strong title contenders
Royal Leopard,  are leading the pack with 55 points after 25 games.
“It’s a tricky situation on who to say will win the league, but as things
stands, fate favours Green Mamba. It’s their league to lose.
They just need to win their last game while Leopard have to win and hope that
Green Mamba drop points. Green Mamba have the advantage as they enjoy a better
goal difference than Leopard,” Mthethwa said.
He also pointed out that what made the league prediction tricky was that both
teams face strong teams in their last game.

“Leopard will go for revenge against Young Buffaloes in their last match while
you will also remember that Green Mamba suffered their first league defeat to
Mbabane Highlanders, whom they play on Sunday.
Both Leopard and Green Mamba are not only motivated by winning the league but
beating the teams which were a challenge in their previous clashes,” he said.
When asked who he wished would win the league, Mthethwa said both teams deserved
to win the title.
“They have been consistent for the entire season. You will recall that Green
Mamba were leaders during the early stages of the league. Leopard came
unexpectedly and took over in the second round and the Correctional side are
back in contention once again. It is quite interesting and may the best team win
on Sunday. They both deserve to win the league,” he added.
Green Mamba will lock horns with Mbabane Highlanders on Sunday at Somhlolo
National Stadium and kick-off time is 4:30pm.Leopard on the other hand will take
on Young Buffaloes at Mavuso Sports Centre at the same time.
