The Swim Lab swimmers continue to steal the show even in 2019, by breaking long standing national records. They were also at their best last year, setting new records. They both each broke two national records on Saturday during the Eswatini Swimming Association (ESA) Age Gala held at the 25-metre Sifundzani Primary School swimming pool in Mbabane. Record Hayley, who competes in the girls 9-10 years old, broke the 400m freestyle record in a time of 5.36.52 minutes. The previous record held by A Cory from year 2000 in a time of 6.01.84 minutes tumbled. She was also at her best in the 200m IM in a time of 3.00.97 minutes. The previous record held by A Cory was 3.04.32 minutes. Luca, who swam in the boys 7-8 years old, ‘whirled’ to victory and set new standards in the 100m Butterfly in a time of 1.54.74 minutes. A previous record held by T Shija from year 2001 was 2.52.09 minutes. He also shone in the 100m freestyle in a time of 1.25.23 minutes. The best time in the category was held by S Jordaan from 1990 in a time of 1.27.00 minutes.
