Times Of Swaziland: DHLAKAMA DUMPS UNITED DHLAKAMA DUMPS UNITED ================================================================================ BY SANELE JELE on 06/02/2019 03:39:00 MBABANE - Just when Matsapha United were starting to gel under new coach Rodwell Dhlakama, the latter has burst their bubble. The former Manzini Sundowns coach, who joined the Premier League bottom-placed side in November last year, is back home in Zimbabwe since last Thursday. Reports from impeccable sources have revealed that he has left to join that country’s side styled Chapungu ahead of the start of the Zimbabwe League next month. He was quoted by the Zimbabwean media saying he was here on vacation. “I left the country for some personal issues and the club was aware of my whereabouts, it was preseason and the good thing is that I am back on time,” he told Zimbabwe’s Herald. “I was on holiday and as a coach you will realise I was visiting some clubs and coaches to share notes on the trends of the game. “I know several clubs are interested in me but for now, my focus is to make Chapungu a force to be reckoned with in the local league.” It was reliably gathered that Dhlakama was keeping in touch with Chapungu while in Eswatini and then he eventually decided to leave permanently on the last day of the past month. Matsapha were starting to breathe under Dhlakama and were six points away from safety before he left. He managed to guide Matsapha to the quarter-finals of the Ingwenyama Cup. Their journey came to an abrupt end at the expense of Mbabane Highlanders who beat them 1-0. He also held table toppers Green Mamba to a goal-less draw in a league fixture. The team was more consistent under the Zimbabwe-born gaffer. Journey Dhlakama allayed fears he might be leaving Chapungu, a Zimbabwean Premiership club, saying his team were ‘ going to enjoy the journey’ this season. He retained the bulk of his arsenal ahead of the start of the new season next month.
