LEOPARD’S LUNGELO  OUT FOR 6 WEEKS

MBABANE – It is a huge blow for Royal Leopard as they will be without their
prolific forward Lungelo Tsabedze for the remainder of the first round.
The gifted striker will be on the sidelines for six weeks after sustaining a
serious ankle injury in their last MTN Premier League clash against Matsapha
United at Mayaluka Stadium, Big Bend three days ago. Tsabedze was fouled by
Matsapha’s import forward, Baba Seidou Bandja, in the opening minutes of the
game and referee Thulani Sibandze did not hesitate to give him (Bandja) a red
card for an early shower.
According to impeccable sources, Tsabedze was in hospital yesterday and due to
the seriousness of the injury his leg had to be coated with the plaster of
Paris.
“It is not good, he will be out for six weeks as his leg has been covered with
the plaster of Paris,” said the source.
The player’s chances of clinching the first round top goalscorer’s incentive
of E6 000 are now very slim.
He currently has seven goals alongside Green Mamba’s Musa Dlamini at the top
of the list.
As it stands, the former Mbabane Highlanders striker will not be part of the
four remaining games for the police side. Their game against Matsapha was called
off by referee Sibandze after the team’s supporter grabbed the opposition
goalkeeper’s towel which resulted in an uncontrollable chaos. The twin is not
the only player nursing an injury at the police side camp.
After his injury, coach, Edwin Matsebula substituted him for Lindelwa Dludlu who
was also injured a few minutes into the game. Also injured during the same match
was Bonginkosi ‘Manyovu’ Dlamini, who left the stadium limping.
According to our sources, Dludlu and ‘Manyovu’‘s injuries are not too
serious and are expected to be on the sidelines for about two weeks.
Leopard’s Public Relations Officer (PRO) Frank Hurube confirmed that Tsabedze
would be out for six weeks.
