Times Of Swaziland: NOTHING SPECIAL ABOUT SWALLOWS, SAYS ‘KOKI’ NOTHING SPECIAL ABOUT SWALLOWS, SAYS ‘KOKI’ ================================================================================ BY THEMBA ZWANE on 23/10/2018 09:08:00 MANZINI – “What is so special about Mbabane Swallows losing a game?” This is a rhetoric question asked by the team’s head coach Thabo ‘Koki’ Vilakati yesterday at the Mavuso Sports Centre during a pre-match press briefing. “Let us concentrate on the upcoming game. Are we going to bring back the points we have already lost?” he asked. He said focus should be on Moneni Pirates as they needed their supporters to come and rally behind them. “We are Mbabane Swallows; we have lost a game, so what is new about that? We have seen giants being relegated to the First Division and coming back, what is so special about Swallows? There is nothing special,” said the emotional Vilakati. The capital city giants coach was irked by the constant reminder of the team’s 0-1 defeat to Vovovo FC last Saturday. During the press conference, the gaffer lost his cool when journalists asked if he was ready to guide ‘Birds’ to a victory after the shocking defeat against Vovovo. Instead of addressing the questions posed, the coach started being emotional and attacking the media. In front of the Premier League of Eswatini (PLE) COO Pat Vilakati and other officials, he lost his temper. Before losing his temper, Vilakati had highlighted that there was nowhere written that Swallows will not lose games. “We are also human and lost to a PLE team. We have picked the pieces and started preparation for the next game,” he said. Asked if his absence might have had an effect on the previous game’s end result, the coach mentioned that he was ‘not Swallows on his own.’ Vilakati was reportedly away to attend pressing issues in South Africa during the game. Vilkakati therefore said he would not answer for the technical bench as he was not there. He, however, stated that they worked together and his absence had nothing to do with the end result. Swallows will lock horns with Moneni Pirates at an MTN league encounter at the Mavuso Sports Centre tonight.
