Times Of Swaziland: BODYBUILDER SANELISO READY TO BREAK RECORD BODYBUILDER SANELISO READY TO BREAK RECORD ================================================================================ BY PHOLSILE HLOPHE on 11/10/2018 05:26:00 MBABANE – Saneliso Mavuso has really pushed his mind, body and soul. The bodybuilder and personal trainer Mavuso said he was ready to break the record in the upcoming bodybuilding championships, an event billed for Emfuleni Lifestyle on Saturday, October 20. His interest in bodybuilding manifested itself when he was still a teenager and at age 17, in 2009 when he competed in his first bodybuilding tournament at the Manzini Old Trade Fair and won first place in the seniors category. At 26 years of age, he weighs 76 kg, endures intense hours of training and follows a specific high protein diet. He warned competitors under his category to be on the lookout as his goal was to break the record. “I need a challenge and that is why I will be competing in the seniors’ category, below and above 80kg. I am confident and ready to prove myself and my competitors that passion and hard work drive me. My aim is to break the record because my goal is to excel,” he said with certainty. He added that his type of sport entailed the use of progressive resistance exercise to control and build muscles. In order to achieve his goal, he sticks to a strict training routine. He does weight training for 3-4 hours on a daily basis, six times a week and only rests on Sunday. He further mentioned that a solid foundation of protein promotes muscles development and in turn suppresses weight gain. “Every morning I supercharge my body with protein as it helps to build muscles then drink lemon juice. I eat measured portions of specific meals six times a day. Diet is one of the challenging aspects of bodybuilding because you need to know how much and how often to eat certain foods. Sometimes I use protein supplements but it is essential to be disciplined nutritionally,” he added.
