Times Of Swaziland: MATSAPHA UTD IN ‘DEEP BLUE OCEAN’ MATSAPHA UTD IN ‘DEEP BLUE OCEAN’ ================================================================================ BY CHRIS DLAMINI on 10/08/2018 03:48:00 MBABANE – Have Matsapha ‘dis-United’? Local football fans certainly will be interested in this one, given the mass exodus of their players in the preseason. The Premier League of Eswatini (PLE) is also in the dark about Matsapha United, the ‘Deep Blue Ocean’ that came with its own razzmatazz in elite football last season. They lost a bulk of their cream to Mbabane Highlanders, at least eight key players and others to Manzini Wanderers. These include Sabelo ‘Sawa’ Gamedze, Jimoh Moses, Vusumuzi Zungu, Sidumo Shongwe, Khanyakwezwe Shabalala (Highlanders) as well as Sifiso ‘Tjovitjo’ Maseko and Mthobisi Mdluli. A question about their whereabouts was posed to the PLE Chairman Peter ‘Touch’ Magagula, especially after eyebrows were raised when they had no representation in the organisation’s recent annual general meeting (AGM) at Sigwaca House. “They have not said anything but get the information from the COO as we’ve asked him to write to them,” Magagula said. A PLE Executive Committee member said it was crucial they take action on the matter now rather than waiting to be embarrassed when the league starts next month. “We haven’t heard anything from them and they also have no one representing them in the PLE Governors as even the last person resigned. That is Mavikane, so we’ll see if they respond. Otherwise anything else we’ve heard has been nothing but rumours,” he said.
