Times Of Swaziland: TOP 4 MY AMBITION – CITIZENS’ MLWANE TOP 4 MY AMBITION – CITIZENS’ MLWANE ================================================================================ BY ASBY CHRIS DLAMINI on 11/07/2018 04:37:00 MBABANE – Officially unveiled as newly-promoted elite side, Mbabane Citizens coach for the new season, Zimbabwean Humphrey Mlwane wants a top four finish. If not a top four finish in their maiden season, at least relegation must not be their concern. The former Malanti Chiefs’ coach was officially unveiled yesterday at Phibs Guest House in Sidvwashini. He signed a one-year renewable contract for the upcoming season. “Even if there’s no specific mandate, as a coach you must have an ambition and for me it is the top four and doing well in the other tournaments. With unity and one voice, the personnel in terms of players it’s all possible,” Mlwane responded when questioned if he had been given a specific mandate. He continued to say ‘it’s fireworks at this level. I need to ensure we stay stable and maintain our elite status as opposed to this going up and down’. He was also given the team manager position which will see him manage the players’ welfare and ensure discipline. “I am excited and will also not manage the senior team but the junior structures as well as that’s where we should see our future to avoid always having to go beyond the border for good players,” he said. He then invited all aspiring elite stars for trials this Saturday at Mhlambanyatsi Club as of 8.30am and any player willing to join them while they will officially start their preseason training next Tuesday. “The coach will assess some players who can make the grade and add value in the team this weekend while next Tuesday we start of preseason. As always, we’ll be taking the team to camp in Mbombela where we will play a series of friendly games and return here with some direction of the team we will parade,” explained the team’s Board of Directors’ Secretariat Mandla Simelane.
