Times Of Swaziland: ETOILE BEAT USM ALGER AS SWALLOWS SEEK FRIENDLIES ETOILE BEAT USM ALGER AS SWALLOWS SEEK FRIENDLIES ================================================================================ BY MTHUNZI MAZIYA on 05/07/2018 01:48:00 MBABANE – Etoile du Sahel beat Algerian giants USM Alger 1-0 on Sunday as they continued their preparations for their CAF Champions League game against Mbabane Swallows. The ‘Beautiful Birds’, on the other hand, are yet to play a single preparatory friendly match ahead of the crucial tie against the Tunisians. Swallows General Manager Sandile ‘Beyond 2000’ Zwane said they were trying to secure matches against a couple of teams locally and beyond the country’s borders. “We are still negotiating with a couple of teams to play, but it is not easy due to the fact that most teams are in preseason. We have not tied up any agreement yet, but we are eager to be engaged in preparatory matches ahead of the game against Sahel,” he said. Both Swallows and Sahel are tied on four points at the top of Group D of the CAF Champions League. This, after Swallows beat Angola’s Primeiro de Agosto 1-0 at the Mavuso Sports Centre, and drew 1-1 with Zambia’s Zesco United away. Sahel’s victory came at the expense of Zesco, whom they beat 2-1 after having drawn 1-1 with Agosto. “What we want to focus on at the moment is our training. We will announce games as soon as we reach an agreement with any team,” he said. Sahel’s game against USM was played at the Stade Olympique de Sousse in Tunisia on Sunday. The winning goal was scored by Egyptian striker Amr Marey. Zwane said they would treat their game against Sahel as a do or die match.
