That is Manzini Sundowns midfielder Justice Figuareido, who has impressed in the first phase of his trials with South Africa’s ABSA Premiership League side, Maritzburg United. Figuareido is now the only foreign player to remain with the KZN based outfit as the rest have been shown the exit door. The national team, Sihlangu player joined Maritzburg United on a 10-day assessment. The 19-year-old is also on the most wanted books of South Africa’s National First Division League side, Mbombela United. The Mpumalanga based side have also shown interest in Mbabane Swallows duo of goalkeeper Sandile ‘Nkomishi’ Ginindza and midfielder Felix Badenhorst. Sundowns Chairman Mark Carmichael said so far, the player has impressed and he will be starting the second phase of the trials this week. “He is a young player who works hard and has a bright future. So far, he is doing well and we hope that he will be the one to open doors for other young players. There are other teams that have shown interest in him, including Mbombela United,” he added. Figuareido graduated from Manzini Sundowns development structures having appeared in the Under-17, 20 and now with the senior teams. He featured for the local Under-20 squad and the national team, Sihlangu. He was on the first team substituted over the weekend when Maritzburg played friendly matches. He, will follow former Mbabane Swallows Banele ‘Pupu’ Sikhondze to the ABSA Premier League if he secures a deal. Sikhondze signed for Polokwane City.
