Times Of Swaziland: BHEMBE WINS GOBOLONDLO SHOOTING TOURNAMENT BHEMBE WINS GOBOLONDLO SHOOTING TOURNAMENT ================================================================================ BY ASHMOND NZIMA on 01/07/2018 08:50:00 MBABANE – Royal Eswatini Police’s Dumisa Bhembe has fired to the top in the inaugural Gobolondlo shooting tournament. The shottists headed north for the individual shoot, which was staged just outside the small Pigg’s Peak Town yesterday. According to results confirmed by Swaziland Shooting Secretary Sifiso Mtsetfwa, Bhembe fired an unmatched 241 out of 250 to shoot to the top ahead of other seasoned competitors. Bhembe’s name has been synonymous with podium finishes, as he is part of the Nhlanhla Sithole-inspired team that dominates local tournaments. The latter was relegated to an unusual fifth spot with a score of 235. In the non-State security category Christopher Magagula stole the show with a 218 score. A familiar ‘ghost’ in Msizi Dludlu, who is also from the police service, was back to claim gold in the ladies category. She fired a score of 225 to win ahead of the equally-forceful pair of Bongiwe Nxumalo and Nontobeko Dlamini, who shot 209 and 195, respectively. “The trick is spending more time at the shooting range. I’m also driven by passion. “I dedicate the win to my superiors, who allow me time to perfect my shots, as well as my teammates for the continued support,” said Dludlu. The competitors aimed at the marked target from seven, 10, 15, 20 and 25 metres. Up to 50 points were up for grabs in each round. Mtsetfwa dubbed the festivities a tremendous success. Peak Timbers from northern Hhohho were the major sponsors. Connection Investments and Ngwenya Glass were also partners in the event. The winners got a share from a E5 000 purse.
