THINDWA FOUNDATION ================================================================================ BY MTHUNZI MAZIYA on 29/06/2018 02:56:00 MANZINI – Swaziland Royal Insurance Corporation (SRIC) has done it again by pouring in hundreds of thousands for Under 13s. The official launch of this year’s sponsorship took place at Mavuso Sports Centre on Wednesday, where the company presented a cheque of E208 000. The sponsorship reflects an increase of E38 000 from last year’s package, and will be competed for by eight Under 13 teams and four girls’ sides from schools from all four regions of the country. SRIC’s Marketing and Communications Manager, Sizwe Shongwe said they opted to increase the sponsorship this year after it was agreed that girls should be included in the tournament. He said his company was more into development of sports that had the potential to grow, which explained their involvement with golf and the Under 13s. Future “We are looking into the future. We realise that the youngsters can only be encouraged if they have something to play for. SRIC is committed to the development of sports at grassroots level and we are in this project for the long haul,” he said. Founder and patron of the Scara Thindwa Foundation, Ephraem ‘Scara’ Thindwa, said they were very proud of the partnership with SRIC. He said he could see that the company had not just entered into a relationship with them, but were actually vested in the youth. “We started small and we have now grown with SRIC into a big partnership. We are very grateful for the increase in the sponsorship as it means the future of these children will be secured,” he said.
