Times Of Swaziland: I WILL DO SWALLOWS PROUD-‘PUPU’ I WILL DO SWALLOWS PROUD-‘PUPU’ ================================================================================ BY SANELE JELE on 25/06/2018 00:03:00 MBABANE – South Africa Polokwane City bound midfielder Banele’ Pupu’ Sikhondze has assured the Mbabane Swallows faithful that he will do the team proud while plying his trade in the Absa Premiership. ‘Pupu’, as he is affectionately known, made these comments during his farewell party held at Portuguese Club on Saturday, which saw over 100 ‘Birds’ supporters attending. The event, which started after 10pm, was also attended by the team’s elders, ‘Pupu’s family and friends. Noteworthy is that some of Swallows players namely; Felix Badenhorst, Sandile ‘Nkomishi’ Ginindza, and Richard Mcreesh showed up but left before the party started. The farewell function was marked by speeches, music, gifts showering and dances through-out the about two-hour session. The programme director was Bongi Khumalo. ‘Pupu’, who was the last speaker, recognised his mother, Siphiwe Sikhondze before proceeding with his short-informative speech. “I want to thank Mbabane Swallows for affording me this chance to showcase my skills. The move to Polokwane City would not have been possible had Mr Gamedze not given me this opportunity. I want to assure all Swallows loyalists that I will do the team proud,” Sikhondze said. He ended his brief speech by inviting supporters to sing the song ‘MaSwaiSwai Siyanithandza nonkhe’ which they sang nonchalantly on top of their voices. Meanwhile, his mother, Siphiwe said she was happy about her son’s achievement.
