A farewell party is set for the Portuguese club on Saturday, starting at 6pm. The twinkle-toed midfielder is set to join his new South African team Polokwane City on July 1 after signing a three-year deal last month. proceedings The day’s proceedings will kick-off as early as 10am with a five-a-side tournament where the joining fee is E100 per team. Entry fee for the farewell party, which will include a braai pack, is E50. Interviewed yesterday, Sikhondze said the event was meant to thank the Swallows supporters and other team supporters who had been supportive of his football career. “I owe my success to all soccer fans especially the Swallows family. I came to Swallows as a young boy, went to play elsewhere but came back and made a huge progress. The Swallows family has treated me well and this will always be home away from home for me,” he said. Sikhondze said he was determined to leave his mark in the money-spinning South Africa’s ABSA Premiership. “It won’t be easy, I have to work even harder but I am grateful to Polokwane City for affording me this opportunity to showcase my talent,” he said.
