Times Of Swaziland: IT’S E1.3 MILLION FOR Y’ELLO LEAGUE CHAMPS IT’S E1.3 MILLION FOR Y’ELLO LEAGUE CHAMPS ================================================================================ BY CHRIS DLAMINI on 14/06/2018 01:30:00 EZULWINI – It’s the highest ever prize money to be won in the country – from E1 050 000 in past three years to a staggering E1.3 million for the next three seasons, starting with the forthcoming 2018/19 season. This is the latest champions’ prize of E1 350 000 for the MTN League to resume around September, slightly more than the Ingwenyama Cup’s E1.2 million and SwaziBank Cup’s E1 million. It also practically reflects a E300 000 increment from the previous E1 050 000, if a team had won both the first round prize of E300 000 and the first prize cheque of E750 000. As the new three-year sponsorship deal was launched yesterday afternoon at the Royal Swazi Sun Hotel and Convention Centre’s Libandla Room, the mobile company’s CEO Ambrose Dlamini announced the historic E18 million package. “Today your Excellency, we are proud as Eswatini MTN to be launching a landmark sponsorship worth E18 million for the next three years towards PLS. This will amount to E6 million per season. Eswatini MTN is also proud to announce that E5 million of the E18 million package will go towards participation fee for all the clubs,” he said much to a big round of applause from the clubs who had the Deputy Prime Minister Paul Dlamini and Sports, Culture and Youth Affairs Minister David ‘Cruiser’ Ngcamphalala in their midst. Dlamini put things to perspective when he said in the last three seasons, teams in both elite and First Division leagues shared E900 000 participation fee. This means each elite side received E20 000 in each of the last three seasons, while for First Division it was E6 000 per team and now will be E20 000.
