Times Of Swaziland: GAVIN HUNT PRAISES PALMA, UMUKORO GAVIN HUNT PRAISES PALMA, UMUKORO ================================================================================ BY SABELO GWEBU on 16/05/2018 04:22:00 (At Mavuso Sports Centre) MANZINI – Respected South African coach Gavin Hunt was left impressed by Mbabane Swallows performance, singling out centre backs Mandla Palma and Stanley Umukoro as great players. Hunt was an interested spectator as Swallows grinded out a hard fought 1-0 over Angola’s Club Desportivo 1st de Agosto in the second group game of the Total CAF Confederations Cup yesterday afternoon at Mavuso Sports Centre. Felix Badenhorst scored the decisive goal that put the red and white glamour side on the driving seat of Group D. “It was great football and I was really impressed by Swallows performance as a team. It was good football all round, especially the centre backs,” Hunt said in an interview. The 2016/17 ABSA Premiership winning coach with Bidvest Wits said it was good for football in the region to have a team like Swallows performing so well in the continent’s premier club tournament. Hunt also shared his views on his target Banele ‘Pupu’ Sikhondze, describing him as an exciting young player with a bright future ahead. The former South Africa’s Black Leopard coach has not hidden his affection for ‘Pupu’, whom he gave a trial stint about a month ago at Wits. “Banele is a good player with a bright future. He is a player I like but there’s nothing concrete as of yet regarding a move. Actually I was impressed with the whole team- I saw a lot of other excellent players,” he said.
