Led by their title sponsor MTN Swaziland, the club offered assistance worth E68 000 to over 200 children as well the Mankayane Government yesterday. The support is from proceeds of the celebrated MTN Khemani Cycle Classic, which is held around Mabovini in Mankayane. it is and sponsored by the giant mobile network company. The presentation was held a few metres from the health facility. At least 206 overjoyed children from Mangwaneni, Mabovini and the Mankayane Town Centre care points were the beneficiaries alongside the hospital that got E39 000 from the share. Food parcels were donated to the care points as well as E19 000 cash. The hospital, on the other hand, had its out-patient department upgraded following the construction of a sitting area for patients, MTN Khemani President Dr Futhi Dlamini said nothing beat the amazing feeling of giving out to the community, as the charity drive was the club’s flagship programme. “For us, this event is like winning a race. When it started four years ago, around E9 000 was distributed. “Big numbers in the race ensure we assist more people. The demand for the assistance is always increasing. We wish to spread our wings throughout the country,” he said. MTN CEO Ambrose Dlamini was appreciative of the partnership, which dates back to 2013, promising to stay on board. “Children are the future of the country, so we are fully behind the drive. “We are also proud of our relationship with MTN Khemani and we’ve marvelled at their growth. MTN Khemani is a premium cycling club in Swaziland,” said Dlamini. Dr Mbuso Dlamini, from the hospital, celebrated furnishing of the hospital, highlighting that patients would no longer be forced to stand while waiting for treatment. Mankayane Town Board Mayor Majaha Ngwenya said they were proud to be hosts of the celebrated race, appreciating the charity projects. The children, on the other hand, got a rare opportunity to be served food by the guests led by the MTN CEO during yesterday’s festivities. Mankayane Town Clerk Wandile Thwala, as well as well as top officials and cyclists from MTN Khemani, who were led by Lincoln Motsa, could not miss out.
