Times Of Swaziland: ‘PAPI’ TAKES MATSAPHA UNITED TO PLAYER STATUS COMMITTEE ‘PAPI’ TAKES MATSAPHA UNITED TO PLAYER STATUS COMMITTEE ================================================================================ BY SANELE JELE on 14/02/2018 00:49:00 MBABANE – Matsapha United midfielder Xolani ‘Papi’ Sikhondze is not a happy man and he has finally taken the team to the Player Status Committee. According to a reliable source, the player wants to be released from the Matsapha based ensemble to join a team of his choice. “The player has been on the sidelines for the past three months due to alleged ill-discipline. He has finally taken the matter to the Player Status Committee where he seeks the committee to assist him to be released from Matsapha United,” the source said. The source further said a number of teams are after the player’s signature but unfortunately, they cannot sign him because he is still contracted to Matsapha United. When reached for comment on the matter, Sikhondze said he was delivering his letter today. “Look man, I am still not training with the team. This is painful because the widow period has closed and I am still not playing. This is really sad because my talent is wasted while I believe I still have a lot to offer for any team that still needs my services,” Sikhondze said. He further disclosed that all he wants is to be given his clearance so that he can join a team of his choice. “I have contacted them (Matsapha) about this matter and they have not given me a chance to address it properly. The only solution is to take the matter to the Player Status Committee and I am optimistic I will be cleared to join a team of my choice,” he added. Meanwhile, when Matsapha United CEO Victor ‘Mavikana’ Dlamini was called yesterday for comment his mobile phone rang several times without being answered.
