Times Of Swaziland: SNSRC PLOUGH E60 000 FOR RWANDA-BOUND CYCLISTS SNSRC PLOUGH E60 000 FOR RWANDA-BOUND CYCLISTS ================================================================================ BY NTOKOZO MAGONGO on 14/02/2018 00:47:00 MBABANE – The Swaziland National Sport and Recreation Council (SNSRC) financially boosted three cyclists to Kigali, Rwanda. The sports mother body forked out E60 000 to add on the financial boost from the International Cycling Union (UCI) for the trio of Muzi Shabangu, Mduduzi Zwane and Gcina Banda to make it to Africa’s flagship cycling road championships. SNSRC Chief Executive Officer (CEO) representative Zama Tsabedze said the funds would assist the squad pay accommodation and transport, among other things. He said some of the costs were catered for by the UCI. “We are happy that the country will be represented in this highly profiled event. This is the start of big things for the trio and we believe that they will do the country proud. If they are not able to bring back the medals, they can improve their times and sets national records and that would also be a good performance,” he said. Meanwhile, acting Director of Sports Mangaliso Simelane said there is future for the cyclists. He said the fact that they are young; they can still compete for the next 15 years and do the country proud. “They are not only going there to compete but also to learn as they are still young. This is a life changing opportunity for the cyclists and as Ministry we wish them all the best. They must compete knowing that our eyes are glued on them,” he said.
