Times Of Swaziland: BUFFS’ E300 000 CAF WAR CHEST! BUFFS’ E300 000 CAF WAR CHEST! ================================================================================ BY CHRIS DLAMINI AND ASHMOND NZIMA on 09/02/2018 23:36:00 MBABANE – Army side Young Buffaloes are all armed to beat Benni McCarthy’s Cape Town City today. They have got all the support a club in the CAF tournaments need. They play the South Africans this afternoon at Somhlolo National Stadium in the first leg of the CAF Confederation Cup before travelling back to Cape Town for the return leg on February 20. Their latest boost came from the National Football Association of Swaziland (NFAS). The local football mother body forked out close to E100 000 to cover return flight airfares to Cape Town for the second leg. A source to the FA disclosed that the association had taken money from its coffers to assist the CAF club competitions envoys. “The FA has hired a coach for Mbabane Swallows travel to Lesotho and also for accommodation. Buffaloes Angolan referees’ accommodation at Lugogo Sun has been catered for by the money and it will also help the team fly to Cape Town for the second leg next week,” the source said. NFAS Marketing and Communications Officer Muzi Radebe said he was out of office when their comment was sought. Reached again later, he asked to consult with his superiors before confirming anything. On Thursday, FA president, Adam ‘Bomber’ Mthethwa announced during Buffaloes sponsorship presentation by SwaziBank that his organisation had undertaken to assist teams campaigning in Africa. He said they would take money from FIFA grants and from within their coffers. He said the move had a positive benefit to Sihlangu because the experience players gain playing in Africa translates to the national team. However, Buffaloes CEO Sandile Gwebu confirmed the assistance from the football mother body which adds to a host of other sponsorship assistance sourced from Swazi Mobile, SwaziBank and Premier League of Swaziland (PLS).
