Times Of Swaziland: IT’S E3 000 FOR USDF WAFA WAFA WINNER IT’S E3 000 FOR USDF WAFA WAFA WINNER ================================================================================ BY SANELE JELE on 01/02/2018 00:54:00 MBABANE – The winner of the third edition of the USDF Wafa Wafa half-marathon will win double last year’s prize. The winner of the 21 kilometres last year pocketed E1 500 while 10 Kilometres received E1 000. The shortest race winners which were the five kilometres got E500. This was announced last week during the launch of the third edition held at the army headquarters in Nokwane. The Umbutfo Swaziland Defence Force Athletes Chairman, Sipho Vilakati, said the champion would receive E3 000. “The race is growing bigger and better as we have massive support from different companies. This why we have improved the first prize packages and the winner will take home E3 000 while the 10 kilometres champion will receive E2 000 with five kilometres entitled to E1 000,” Vilakati said. Puma Energy were the main contributors as they pumped in E30 000 followed by Get Bucks on E23 100 while Hlalawati donated E15 000 towards the third edition of the annual race. Letshego also supported the race with a sum of E13 600 while Dixies International also confirmed that they would provide water tables, fruit and T-shirts. Others companies that pledged support, although not in monetary terms, are, Swaziland Royal Insurance Cooperation (SRIC) Swaziland Revenue Authority (SRA), Maqalf and Royal Science Technology Park. The race is slated for February 11. It will start and finish at Garrison Barracks at 6am. The winners of the previous edition were USDF’s Melusi Sihlongonyane and Nomvula Ntjalintjali.
