Times Of Swaziland: STRONG TEAM FOR AFRICAN CYCLING ROAD CHAMPS STRONG TEAM FOR AFRICAN CYCLING ROAD CHAMPS ================================================================================ BY SABELO GWEBU on 09/01/2018 01:23:00 MBABANE – The country has named a strong squad for next month’s African Continental Road Championships. The Confederation of African Cycling endorsed Rwanda to host the 2018 African Continental Road Championships from February 13-18 in Kigali. Cycling Association of Swaziland (CAS) president, Sihlangu Nhlabatsi revealed the trio of Mduduzi Zwane, Gcina Banda and Muzi Shabangu will represent the country at the continental event. Coached by Mbusi Motsa, the trio are also in the shortlist of cyclists earmarked to represent the country in April’s Gold Coast Commonwealth Games. It is the second time for Rwanda to stage Africa’s most prestigious cycling event, but for the first time in eight years since 2010. Over the last 10 years, Rwanda has been entrusted to host major continental competitions such as AFCON U17 and U20 Championships and recently, the African Nations Championship (football). Other big events held in Rwanda include; the African Mountain Championships (2014), African Para-Volleyball Championships (2015), FIBA Zone V Senior and Club Championships and the U18 Africa Basketball Championships (2010) among others.
