Times Of Swaziland: GHANAIAN, CAMEROONIAN STARS JOIN WANDERERS! GHANAIAN, CAMEROONIAN STARS JOIN WANDERERS! ================================================================================ BY BHEKISISA MAGONGO on 06/01/2018 14:46:00 MBABANE – Manzini Wanderers are not taking their Ingwenyama Cup quarter-final clash against Mbabane Swallows lightly. The ‘hub giants’ have enlisted the services of two international players from Cameroon and Ghana. Michael Asamoah from Ghana is an attacking midfielder with Cameroonian Willy playing the holding midfielder role. The duo has impressed the club coach Nyanga Hlophe and he has already recommended their immediate signing. “They will be joining the team soon as talks over their transfers have started,” a source said. Manzini Wanderers CEO Pat Mahlalela confirmed that they have engaged the players’ agents with the view of enlisting them in their squad when the window period opens on Monday. “We had four foreign-based players in the team, and we can now confirm that the coach has recommended the signing of Michael Asamoah from Ghana who is an offensive midfielder and Willy from Cameroon who is a deep lying midfielder,” he said. He said depending on the finalisation of their talks, the players could make their debut in the Ingwenyama Cup quarter final game next weekend against defending champions Mbabane Swallows. “The search for a striker still continues as the coach has stressed the need to secure one before the January transfer window period closes. We hope to get one to strengthen our squad,” he said. Attempts to get the club’s gaffer, Nyanga Hlophe, have been unsuccessful for the past two days as he did not pick up his cellphone. However, he had last month alluded to the media that he would prioritise on signing a playmaker and striker to boost his team’s chances during the season.
