Times Of Swaziland: IN-DEMAND ‘XAVI’ AT ‘BIRDS’ TRAINING IN-DEMAND ‘XAVI’ AT ‘BIRDS’ TRAINING ================================================================================ BY SANELE JELE on 06/01/2018 14:43:00 MBABANE – As the Mthunzi ‘Xavi’ Mkhontfo three teams’ tug-of-war continues, the player has made a surprise appearance at Mbabane Swallows training, but as a spectator. Initially, it was reported that Green Mamba were also after the on-demand former AS Vita striker while his team Royal Leopard were adamant that he is their player. However, latest indicators point to the player leaning more towards joining the red and white glamour side where in the past two days, he has watched them train twice. On Thursday alone, he did not only watch the club’s morning training session at the Prince of Wales Stadium, but was also spotted watching their practice match against Vovovo F.C which ironically parades his younger brother Khetho. He was in the company of his agent Alimasi Bin Saleh. Interestingly, after the training he was approached by ‘Birds’ officials where they engaged in a lengthy talk. The officials included assistant Manager Lwazi Maziya, trainer Siyabonga Nkambule and team doctor Samkeliso Mdluli. When the Sports Desk reached him for comment, Mkhonfto said he came to watch his brother Khetho Mkhontfo. “Look, I have come here to watch my brother Khetho. If you ask me about if I want to join Mbabane Swallows, I am ready to join any team that puts a good offer on the table. For now I am a Royal Leopard player,” Mkhontfo said. Meanwhile, his agent Alimasi Bin Saleh said they were yet to receive an official proposal by Mbabane Swallows. “They (Swallows) have not made anything official in as far as vying for the player’s signature is concerned. We are waiting for them to table a good offer,” Saleh said.
