OWEN SPLASH E30 000 TO FOOTBALL ================================================================================ BY CHRIS DLAMINI on 02/01/2018 08:40:00 MANZINI – Festive soccer tournaments are a norm in the country and also a way of fast cash for the participating teams. Manzini South were on Friday pampered with E30 000 by Khuba Traders and Minister Owen Nxumalo after a successful festive soccer tournament. Several teams from Zakhele, Moneni, Ngwane Park and Mhobodleni were last Friday presented with cash prizes after the tournament. The teams were presented according to their location areas with the highest amount shared by Moneni and Mhobodleni teams – the champions Emazayoni and Ndofaya received E2 500 and E3 000 respectively. Zakhele champions Two Sticks received E2 000 while the Ngwane Park side was won by Spaza FC who got E1 200. The tournament was played over the Christmas holidays and included some elite players according to sources who watched it. “This would not have been a successful tournament without the teams and our great sponsor Khuba Traders who once again stood up for us to ensure we keep our youth busy in the festive holidays,” said Public Service and Information Minister Owen Nxumalo during the prize presentation held at Khuba Traders in Manzini. Speaking for the sponsor, Bheki Mkhaliphi told the clubs that the company that deals with farming material was ready to do same even next year. “We’re grateful to be associated with a peaceful Manzini South soccer tournament and I can assure you that even next year, we’ll be around to keep the games going,” he said. He appealed for their support as a company from all Manzini South people adding that they were completely Swazi-owned which was important to win more support.
