Times Of Swaziland: CALM BEFORE THE INGWENYAMA CUP LAST 32 KICK-OFF ‘STORM’ CALM BEFORE THE INGWENYAMA CUP LAST 32 KICK-OFF ‘STORM’ ================================================================================ BY LWAZI DLAMINI on 06/12/2017 03:27:00 Sports Editor (At Royal Swazi Sun Gigi’s Restaurant) EZULWINI – Calm before the Ingwenyama Cup storm. That’s how best to describe the mood during the launch of the third edition of the annual Ingwenyama Cup tournament held at Royal Swazi Sun’s Gigi’s restaurant yesterday morning. Tranquil, soothing, beaming smiles, hearty laughter all around characterised the event as speaker after speaker paid homage to His Majesty King Mswati III for coming up with a unique tournament that fostered a relationship between football, the game of the billions, and the inimitable Swazi culture. It was a perfect idea born out of a royal womb. When His Majesty King Mswati III launched the E9 million sponsorship spread over three years on the distinctively warm Tuesday of November 15, 2015, he demonstrated that the country will not reach First World through the success of individuals but through unity, which is the objective of the Ingwenyama Cup. Ingwenyama Cup Trustees Chairman Prince Hlangabeza put it more succinctly when he invited the nation to come in their numbers to watch the games countrywide. “Loku lomnyama sekawusukumisile lomsebenti sicela sive siphelele etinkhundleni temidlalo bekunene. Mhlawumpeni licembu lakho seliphumelele mhlawumpeni, alikaphumeleli kodvwa ke nichubeke niwusekele lomsebenti lomkhulu kangaka we-Ngwenyama,” he said in his distinctively King Sobhuza II gravel, weekend-was-hard voice.
