The team that is dominated by former Mbabane Highlanders and Swallows players were victorious in the annual SADC Masters tournament hosted in Pine Town, South Africa on Saturday and Sunday. The club won 4-1 against Drienfontein in the finals. The players include former Highlanders’ Nana ‘Take Me Home’ Dlamini, Msizi Lukhele, Sifiso Masuku, Swallows’ Bright Zondo and Malanti Chiefs’ Raphael Ntimane, among others. The team was unstoppable from the start at they won 2-0 against Sedibeng and thrashed XYZ 7-2 to reach the finals. The team was dressed by Swazi Mobile. Manager Musa Masuku said they had been competing in this tournament for the past 10 years and the country once hosted the tournament three years ago. “Thanks to Swazi Mobile, who made sure that we connect with the rest of SADC through this tournament. We were among the best dressed team in the tournament. In the field of play, they couldn’t match us as we won all our games with convincing results. We are happy that we marketed the country well, especially in football,” he said. Masuku said teams present in the tournament came from countries including Mozambique, Botswana, Lesotho, Swaziland and South Africa. He said there were 13 team and most of them came from South Africa, the hosts.
