Times Of Swaziland: ‘I DEDICATE AWARD TO PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES’ ‘I DEDICATE AWARD TO PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES’ ================================================================================ BY SABELO GWEBU on 02/11/2017 01:21:00 MBABANE – There was evidence of people with disability participating in sport as early as the 18th and 19th centuries and sport activities were instrumental in the rehabilitation of people with disability. When Mcebo Dludlu majestically marched to the podium to receive his Sportsman with Disability of the Year award during last Saturday’s National Sports Awards at the Royal Swazi Convention Centre in Ezulwini, it must have been victory for all. Interestingly, humble as he has been, Mcebo, the man they call ‘Makelele’ in athletics circles, has dedicated his award to all people with disabilities in the country. It is kind of him. Mcebo has represented the country with pride, bagging medals in regional events, notably the African Union Sports Council (AUSC) Region V Games. The 400m and 200m runner is a phenomenal on the synthetic track and the Times Sports Desk tied him to a one-on-one interview following his latest achievement. Times: What has been your motivation in your career? Mcebo Dludlu: My motivation is always using the phrase ‘do not quit’. Another motivation is that I want to be an extraordinary athlete in Swaziland, so I have to give my best always and my coach (Muzi Mabuza) and I, we have a strong bond that keeps me motivated.
