Times Of Swaziland: MKHWELI, MBIMBILI ARE SEPTEMBER Y’ELLO STARS MKHWELI, MBIMBILI ARE SEPTEMBER Y’ELLO STARS ================================================================================ BY BHEKISISA MAGONGO on 12/10/2017 00:37:00 MBABANE – For the September MTN League Player of the Month winners it was nothing but a case of good things coming to those who wait. Both Sanele Mkhweli of Mbabane Swallows and Jabulani Mbimbili of Tambankulu confessed to have finally broken their jinx in winning the individual award in the sport. Mkhweli, a Premier League best player for the month walked home with E5 000, while Mbimbili who shone in the National First Division with three goals in four games won E1 500 for his efforts. Mbimbili is a younger sibling of late former Mbabane Swallows striker Sabelo Mbimbili, who headlined the 1997 Castle League derby decider at Somhlolo National Stadium that was abandoned with Mbabane Highlanders leading 3-0. The player was alleged to have been struck by lightning forcing the match to be abandoned with Highlanders cursing their gods. “It’s an honour for me to win this one and as a player you are motivated. It is my first individual award, and I have all the reasons to dream big after this,” he said. Mkhweli, who despite playing at left back had been consistent in his team’s surge to the top of the log table, while they also maintained their unbeaten run in the competition. “I still can’t believe it because this is my first individual award in the game. To emerge above a number of quality players, shows that I am doing something right. Playing in Africa helped shaped me mentally and I am not going back,” he said.
