Jake Lovely, a first timer in the Mbabane Parkrun, excelled under the juniors category and overall he was position 22. The fifth edition of the parkrun was held at Mbabane Club yesterday which saw 123 athletics participate. “Well, it was my first time partaking in the Mbabane Parkrun and I enjoyed myself as it was all fun and the route was well marked. I am happy that I manage to improve my time from last week’s 30 minutes which I set when I was running in another parkrun in South Africa. What motivates me to join short races like this one is that it keeps one fit and healthy while you get also get to make new friends,” Lovely said. He further said he was invited by his sister Lisa Leung and he was hoping to partake in the 16th edition next week. In the overall category Correctional runner Nkululeko Gama did not disappoint as usually as he clocked 15:45 minutes to come up top. However, he could not beat his previous time of 15:20 minutes. Coming second in the elite category was Zwelithini Mdzebele on 15:53 minutes with Swazi Slojos runner Lindani Dlamini completing the top three brackets on 16:47 minutes. In the female category, Delisile Ngubane continues to dominate. This is after she clocked 26:12 minutes while Bridget Farrell clocked on 29:14 ahead of third placed Stay Soutar who finished the race in 30:24 minutes.
